Exchanging Links

Why should I exchange links with other companies?  Exchanging links helps increase your search engine rankings especially if you are exchanging with a company that already has a high rank.  Your search engine rankings should be of great importance to you if you wish to drive traffic to your site(s).  There are other ways to drive traffic to your site but one of the best is having other high ranking sites linking to yours.

How do I start exchanging links or getting back links to my site?  There are a number of ways to exchange links or get back links to your site:

  • You can write articles
  • Blog
  • Contact other site owners
  • Pay to place your link/ad
  • Join a banner exchange
  • etc...

Regardless, of the method you choose if you wish to be successful you must choose.  Getting natural traffic from your site through the search engines is by far the best traffic you can get and exchanging links aids in getting this natural traffic.

How Much Can I Make Online

The amount of money you can make from placing articles and affiliate links on your site differs from one person to another. The amount that you can make will mostly depend on how successful your site it. What determines the success of your website? Good search engine rankings, making an enjoyable and informative site, niches, etc...

People have claimed to make as much as $10,000 p/month with article and affiliate marketing this is not the norm. Most people just starting out can expect to make anywhere from $500 - $1000 p/month. If you are expecting to make this amount of money on a recurring basis you will need to continually work on your site.

When you have achieved success with one site, don't stop there continue to build more niche sites. The more niche sites that you have the better your income will be. After, you have completed your first site which is the hardest creating additional niche sites should be rather easy.

Another, problem faced by internet entrepreneurs is finding affiliates for their niche sites. The most important thing to know when trying to overcome this obstacle is where to look, what to look for, etc... Where to look is pretty easy you can just do a search on Google (affiliate programs) to find some good affiliate sites. What to look for is another story.

When looking at an affiliate program that you are planning to promote you will want to look for certain things to determine if the product will be profitable for you. There are several types of affiliates and some will offer you more money from a sale than others. Before you get hazy-eyed by dollar signs, however, remember some products are bound to sell more than others. If you sell one product four times a year from a little known company that gives you $100 per sale or sell a well known product 3 times a week at the rate of $10 per sale, then you will make much more money with the $10 per sale product. Often times large well known companies will offer a very small profit per sale because they are established and know that their product is likely to sell well. Small, unknown companies, on the other hand, need all of the promotion they can get. Also, because they are unknown, their products are likely to sell less frequently.

Always, remember to have relevant affiliate products on your niche site(s). You do not want to promote fast cars on a site that is for parents of young children. While some of those visitors to your site might be interested in fast cars most will not be. If your niche site targets parents of young children, then promote baby products. If you niche site targets gardeners, then promote gardening products. If you promote baby products to gardeners, you are almost guaranteed to not make a profit no matter how much money the affiliate company offers for a sale.

Lastly, The amount of money that you make online is entirely in your hands. It is based primarily on how diligent, focused, and committed you are to making it online. Know this and know it well many online ventures do not work mostly because the venturer is not willing to do what it takes to make it.

Making Money with Articles: Free Article Content

Some webmasters try to use articles from free content directories to get visitors to their site and make some money. This is mostly important for those who have just begun working as an affiliate for several companies and do not yet have any funding, yet need to built small niche websites to visitors to their site so that they can begin making revenue.

Although this can sometimes be the only option for those who are running on a non-existent budget, it is not a way that will effectively build your website or revenue. There are a few potential reasons why this may be detrimental to your business building efforts.

Problem #1 - Search Engines

Search engines will only look down upon your site if it has the exact same duplicated content than other sites. The more sites that share your content, the less it will help you achieve good search engine rankings.

Good search engine rankings are essential in getting visitors to your sit so that they have a chance to click on your affiliate links. If you cannot even get visitors, then will never make an revenue. Working on the search engine optimization of your site so that you will eventually be high enough in the results to get customers, should be priority one.

Problem #2 - Getting visitors to click

Although getting your site high on search engine result pages and acquiring site visitors is hard work, unfortunately this is only half of the battle. You must also be able to convince those visitors to click on your affiliate links. If your visitors see the same content they have seen on a multitude of other sites, they will be least likely to click on your links. This is because most people want to buy things that are recommended by people that they trust or whom they feel like are an expert on the subject.

If your content is just duplicated from other sites, you will be exposed as someone who does not really know what they are talking about and therefore will not look heavily on your product recommendations. This will reduce the number of website visitors who will be willing to click through.

Problem #3 - Author Bylines

Most free content is only given to you if you agree to place the authors byline under the article (you can get into trouble if you try to use it without following the stipulated rules). This poses a problem because most author bylines include links. When a reader gets done reading a really intriguing article, there is a strong possibility that they will click on the author’s byline link rather than your affiliate links. This is the entire reason why these authors offer free content to begin with, so that they may get their name and links out there to the public. Using this type of content may mean shooting yourself in the foot and losing possible profitable website visitors.

Once you put these three problems together, you are looking at a serious decline in revenue simply because you used free website content from article directories. Although it may be the only option for some, if you have the funds to buy your own original content, then you should go this route. If you don’t have the finds, however, you may be better off writing your own content and then hiring professional services once you have made a profit to work with.

Articles Are The Quickest Way To Your Customers Wallet

How does this work?

Write articles relating to your website and submit them to “free content” submission sites. Easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.

How can article writing boost traffic and income?

The article on the free content site contains a link to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit. Having them on the free content sites is also making these articles available to other webmasters who may wish to publish that article on their site.

If they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.

As the list of your published articles grow larger, and more and more of them are appearing on different websites, the total number of links to your site increases also. Major search engines are placing a lot of significance on incoming links to websites so they can determine the importance of a certain site.

The more incoming links the website has, the more importance search engines attaches to it. This will then increase your website’s placement in the search results.

If you site is into promoting a product or service, the links that your articles have achieved will mean more potential customers for you. Even if visitors only browse through, you never know if they might be in need of what you are offering in the future.

There are also those who already have specific things they need on their mind but cannot decide yet between the many choices online. Chances are, they may stumble upon one of your articles, gets interested by the contents you wrote, go to your site and became enticed by your promotions. See how easy that is?

Search engines do not just index the websites, they also index published articles. They also index any article that is written about your own website’s topic. So once someone searches for that same topic, the list of results will have your site or may even show the articles that you have written.

And to think, no effort on your part was used to bring them to your site. Just your published articles and the search engines.

It is no wonder why many webmasters are suddenly reviving their old writing styles and taking time to write more articles about their site than doing other means of promotion.

Getting their site known is easier if they have articles increasing their links and traffic and making it accessible for visitors searching the internet. Since many people are now taking their buying needs online, having your site on the search engines through your articles is one way of letting them know about you and your business.

The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. This can be achieved in the lightest mood but professional manner, with a little not-so-obvious sales pitch added.

If you think about it, only a few minutes of your time is spent on writing one article and submitting to free content site. In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.

If you think you are wasting your time writing these articles, fast forward to the time when you will see them printed and wide-spread on the internet. Not to mention the sudden attention and interest that people are giving your website and your products or services.

Try writing some articles and you will be assured of the sudden surge in site traffic, link popularity and interest. Before you know it, you will be doubling and even tripling your earnings.

Nothing like getting benefits for something you got for free.

Learning How to Make Money Blogging

There are two major types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first  and most common way to turn a blog into a profit  making machine is to sell advertising to different  companies and brands who want to reach that blog's  readers. The second kind of money making blog is one  that helps a single brand improve its image by creating  positive associations between the blog and the product  in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can  make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen  mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising,  there are two basic ways that you can go about  recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site;  you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you  can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.  Within the first group, many people make money  blogging by selling space through Google's AdSense  program. The advantages of this program are numerous,  as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger  or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most  people discover that they make less money through this  method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

Selling advertising directly to companies who want to  put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take  quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you  have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the  topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route.  People who have a strong background in sales and are  experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit  of money by renting blog space to interested companies.  The most serious problem with this model is that you  often have to build quite a sizable readership before you  can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to  do several months of work before you start to make  money blogging.

As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative  business, a lot of established companies are considering  how they can get into the action. One way that  companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by  having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for  their corporation. Often, a company will employ an  established blogger to create a weblog designed  specifically to appeal to that company's customers and  to create positive associations with the brand in  consumers' minds. More than one writer who never  even dreamed that he or she could make money  blogging has been approached by a company and  offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.
